Since launching in July 2023, SmithRx has continued expanding access to lower-cost biosimilars like Yusimry as part of its transparent PBM model.
SmithRx offers YUSIMRY, a Humira biosimilar, at more than 90 percent below Humira’s list price, delivering significant savings for employers and members.
Through its partnership with Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company, PBC, SmithRx covers YUSIMRY for eligible members, with the medication available through the Cost Plus Drugs online mail-order pharmacy for $569.27 plus dispensing and shipping fees, compared to Humira’s list price of $6,922 per carton.
Unique to this collaboration, SmithRx members can apply their insurance benefits to further reduce out-of-pocket costs for YUSIMRY, making this Humira biosimilar an even more affordable option for patients and plan sponsors.
Unlike traditional pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), SmithRx prioritizes transparency and up-front cost savings. Humira is often an employer’s top drug expense so offering a low-cost alternative will have a significant impact. Humira remains one of the top-selling pharmaceutical in the world, and among the most expensive medications in America and is used to treat a range of auto-immune conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and plaque psoriasis. While multiple Humira biosimilars are now available in the market, SmithRx was the first PBM to make a Humira biosimilar accessible to patients at a low, transparent price.When a previous biosimilar was released in 2023, legacy PBMs made it available only through the standard model of high list prices coupled with opaque rebates.

On June 1, 2023, Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company and Coherus Biosciences announced plans to offer Cost Plus Drug Company customers YUSIMRY (adalimumab-aqvh), a biosimilar of HUMIRA (adalimumab injection), in July 2023.
